berryberry Posted January 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2006 Bequia - I posted this in a followup to another thread and Trent provided me some good advice but he also suggested checking with you on some specifics. basically looking for a reasonably priced (ie less than $150) mom and pop motel on Hollywood Beach to stay 3 days post cruise in March. Nothing fancy, just safe, clean, convenient I have contacted several, including the one Trent mentioned and the Seadowns which you noted in a few threads - and neither have any availability. Doing a search of threads didn't yield a whle lot I did find one that may fit my needs - the Caribbean Resort Apartments - . Do you know anything about it? Do you have others that you would suggest for 3 people - (2 adults and a 12 year old) Thanks
Bequia Posted January 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2006 Hi BB, I've never stayed at CRA mycaribbeanresort.com but I know where it is. It's one block off the ocean on Surf Road. While the area is safe both day and night it's situated on a part of the broadwalk that attracts a lot of crowds (public park, restaurants, shops etc). I prefer staying further north and walking to that area for eating or people watching. The single report on Tripadvisor was from a guest who stayed there for quite some time and really loved it. Besides the Seadowns you can checkout the new Marriott Hollywood Beach www.hollywoodbeachmarriot.com , The Tides http://www.tideapartments.com/, The Walkabout http://www.walkaboutbeachresort.com/ and The Bougainvilla http://www.bougainvilleahollywood.com/ Here's an informative link for the area http://www.visithollywood.org/

Bequia Posted January 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2006 I never see this property won on priceline. Does anyone know if they participate? dogs, It's a relatively new property operating at a 90-95% daily occupancy according to a friend of mine involved with the property. Until the new Marriott just south of this one on Johnson St is completed don't expect to see this one on PL or HW.
