I want to climb one really bad, too. I'm planning on going to Chichen Izta. The only problem is that I'm really scared of heights. I don't want my fear to cause me to regret a once in a lifetime chance to climb the pyramids though. Is it really scary? I can already feel my knees getting weak!!! Any advice for mustering the (inner) strength to do it???

p.s. In the case of heights, I would say that I experience vertigo.

The pyramid at Chichen Itza has a rope or chain up the middle of the stairs on the climable side. The angle of the climb is very steep. Very. Wear proper footwear and drink plenty of water. You might go up 10-15 steps and stop and see how confident you are.
