ylojerseygirl Posted January 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2006 Hi, I am going to Progresso on the Elation Feb 20. There are a bunch of ruin tours, and i'm not sure which to choose. the only thing that matters is that we can climb one. I welcome all suggestions. Thank you!:)
hdawson Posted January 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2006 Chichen Itza is probably best for you, as long as you don't suffer from Vertigo.
cruzzza Posted January 31, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2006 I want to climb one really bad, too. I'm planning on going to Chichen Izta. The only problem is that I'm really scared of heights. I don't want my fear to cause me to regret a once in a lifetime chance to climb the pyramids though. Is it really scary? I can already feel my knees getting weak!!! Any advice for mustering the (inner) strength to do it???

hdawson Posted January 31, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2006 The pyramid at Chichen Itza has a rope or chain up the middle of the stairs on the climable side. The angle of the climb is very steep. Very. Wear proper footwear and drink plenty of water. You might go up 10-15 steps and stop and see how confident you are.
