Diving In GC - Valor

We are trying to do some diving in GC from the Valor on 2/6. Suggestions? The shore excursion appears to be sold out and we HAVE to dive here! I just dont want to miss the boat, or be late getting back to the ship.

Help!!

First choice for me would be a return trip with http://www.neptunesdivers.com

If Casey can't accommodate you, ask her for a recommendation.

If your arrival is too late in the morning for a morning boat dive, my next choice would be a shore dive at the turtle farm dive site serviced by http://www.divetech.com That site is a better dive than the much closer Eden Rock dive site.

Third choice would be http://www.sunsethouse.com in Georgetown a couple of blocks past the Eden Rock dive site

Finally, the popular, but possibly busy, Eden Rock dive site with 2 near by dive shops, http://www.edenrockdive.com/ and http://abanksdivers.com.ky/ This site is within easy walking distance from there the tenders normally dock in Georgetown.

I would consider you fortunate that the ship's excursion is sold out and you are "forced" to make your own arrangements. You will probably have a better time not diving with a large boat of other cruise divers.

Hope this helps,

Bruce

Brijack - I second Bruce's tip on Neptune's.

There was no problem getting back to the ship, but I would grab a taxi instead of waiting for the bus to fill up as it would have been about the same price.

Have a great trip!

Wendy

THank you so much for the advice. Have you had trouble making it back to the ship on time doing a 2 tank dive?
I had no trouble making it back to the ship after a 2 tank dive that left Public Beach on 7 mile beach around 9:30 AM. Casey offered a ride back to the tender dock, but since I was diving with someone who lives part time on the island and had a car, I politely declined. I probably would have time for a shore dive at Eden Rock if I wanted, but we had a couple of beers instead, I did some t-shirt shopping, then went back to the ship.

If your 2 tank trip is in the afternoon, or your ship leaves early in the afternoon, then that is when I'd have second thoughts.

Thanks for all the advice folks. We booked a 2 tank this morning with Neptune. They were great to work with, both over email and on the phone. Very polite, friendly, and professional. I cant thank you all enough for the advice. Im really looking forward to GC now and can finally relax about getting our diving in.
