trouvaille Posted January 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2006 We are looking at booking on the Grand Princess. I was wondering if there is a preference for the side of the ship to book on?
Times Prince Posted January 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2006 I prefer the outside :D But seriously, it depends on the cruise itinery. Alaska is the only one where one is in sight of land most of the time. In ports it will depend on the dock they use (if any), which varies. I would suggest you look at the direction the ship is sailing from each port in the evening - standing at a railing and watching the city or countryside pass by is soothing. This usually only lasts for about 30 minutes and then you are out to sea. The only cruise we would have picked the opposite side was our Mediterranean cruise where we had too much sun on our open balcony (cruising west to east). We've had cabins on both sides of the ship and have enjoyed all.
kosmo Posted January 22, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2006 We were just on the starboard side last week and enjoyed it very much! HTH!
