halos Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 OK.... I have about 68 days left until my Miracle cruise and I am already anticipating PCD. I was thinking that it would be nice for all of you to share your BEST cruise experience in order to help me start planning my next sail. I was thinking that I'd REALLY love to try a Panama Canal Cruise. My DH would love this as well; he, because he wants to go through the canal, and I would enjoy a stop in Costa Rica....I once hosted an 18 year old exchange stdent from Costa Rica and she is now like my 3rd daughter....I absolutely love her and would love to 'pop' in and see her! So...has anyone done the Panama Canal Cruise (any cruise line?) or..what else would you suggest?????? denb Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 halos - Our Panama Canal cruise on Carnival Spirit ranks at the top of our favorites list. It was one of our favorite ships, too. Of course, it could have had something to do with it being 14 days, too. We went West to East on that one, and we want to do West to East next time. <font size="0">RCI Nordic Empress 01/92 RCI Sovereign Of the Seas 01/96 RCI Majesty of the Seas 05/97 Carnival Inspiration 01/98 Celebrity Century 04/99 RCI Splendour of the Seas 03/00 RCI Grandeur of the Seas 09/00 Celebrity Millennium 01/01 Carnival Spirit 10/01 RCI Monarch of the Seas 06/02 Celebrity Summit 01/03 Carnival Victory 10/03</font> <marquee direction=left width=33%> Time left until Galaxy - April 26th, 2004 </marquee> <marquee direction=left width=33%> Time left until Jewel Of The Seas - November 14th, 2004 </marquee> <marquee direction=left width=33%> Time left until Empress of the Seas - January 17th, 2005 </marquee> <center> <a href="http://www.escati.com/counter98/free_time_codes.htm"> </center>
halos Posted April 12, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 14 days sounds glorious...may have to wait for that one. I've got 2 years left until my youngest starts college. I think it will be a nice cruise to take the minute my nest becomes empty!! halos Posted April 12, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Woah!!! East.....that does sound awesome...but did you see what I said about college....I'll have two in at the time. I don't think 30 days on the sea will be within the budget; but it's always nice to dream...... maybe I should start playing the lottery???? halos Posted April 12, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted April 12, 2004 It does sound long but I'd be VERY willing to give it a try...nothing ventured, nothing gained..... After 30 days, I might never want to go home. I believe in Miracles MIRACLE JUNE 19, 2004 Calm Seas, Good Friends
lnd331 Posted April 13, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I cannot speak for the Panama Canal, but my favorite by far has been the southern Caribbean aboard the Destiny. We have done this route twice and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Lil'Bird Posted April 13, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2004 We did the Panama Canal several years ago. Make sure you're more into relaxing than activity that cruise. They are a slow pace with and older crowd, which is great if you just want to veg. A Lil'Bird told me... What time is it anyway? 14 Cruises Past Till we all meet on the Miracle 11/7/04 Till we all meet on the Legend 1/22/
scottp Posted April 13, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 13, 2004 We did a 12 day Southern Caribbean on the Celebrity Millennium. It was great and stopped in Costa Rica and Panama. We did not transverse the canal, but took the train ride to Panama City. Wonderful!! Until the FUN begins!!!!
