Clipper Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I pack very lightly and would just as soon carry on myself a bag with wheels that fits easily in an airplane's overhead compartment -- not one of those monsters it takes three people to jam in. Can I do this or will I run afoul of the x-ray machine? Thanks in advance for your advice.
IBEEMOM Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 The cruise line check in xray machines are the same size as those used at the airports 11 x 17 inches. No length is given. Crusin-Suzan Posted April 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I always do carry on and my bag did not fit thru Carnivals xray. The worst that can happen is you have to check.
Travel Angel Posted April 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2004 My experiences have varied using the same piece of luggage.... when sailing out of Port Canaveral, they had a plexiglass piece that reduced the size of the standard opening on the xray machine for carryon luggage.... so out of line I went and had to get the baggage checked, but when sailing out of Miami using the same piece of luggage, no plexi glass reducer on that machine and it fit !!!
