Marty, Ouch! I thnk that just may prove that there is no such thing as a bad cruise!

Antcyd, I can totally understand your point and appreciate it.

I have found that most who have read this have taken it as it was intended. This is not a rant about a horrible cruise. We had a great group and a wonderful time. I started reading the reviews last year and developed expectations based upon that information. As this season approached, I was made aware that some of the things in last year's reviews had been changed under the new management but got few specifics.

The purpose of this review is to allow others to adjust their expectations and plan accordingly. In some cases a simple change can improve your cruise. The perfect example was the fact that I accidently had my water bottle with. I, personally, would have been very unhappy with the 6 ounce plastic cups in the public areas since I drink water constantly. I would have liked to purchase an MSC bottle but could not find any to buy. One of our group (the one who sailed Opera last March) bought a jug in San Juan and made her own iced tea which she was quite happy with. Based on the information that I attempted to provide, bring whatever you need to keep you happy. As to the end of the cruise, I can only hope that this will not be duplicated on any future cruises.

msbptq,

I understand your wanting to read all positive reviews, since you are boarding the ship next month. I was also on this sailing and feel donnaw's comments are very accurate (please see the review I posted today). I have written cruise reviews before, and I do write a regular restaurant review column for a local newspaper. I usually find myself focusing on the positives, but in this case, some cold reality is needed. Like donnaw, I didn't have a horrible time, but the overall ship experience did not meet what I have become accustomed to on other ships. This message board is called Cruise Critic for a reason. As a fellow passenger on this cruise and an experienced reviewer, her comments seemed very valid, balanced and fair.

I,ll go along with that, Guess Ive been reading too many negative reviews, and started to vent..

My wife tells me that I suffer from male P.M.S. With that said I,m glad you took the time to write an honest review of the Opera, and the problems suffered while sailing her..If I offended you or anyone on this site, I apologize. (spelled correctly I might add)..That was not, and would never be, my intentions..I,m hopeing that all things listed buy you will be looked into buy the cruise line, and straightened out buy the time my wife and I sail..
