Casino points required for comp cruise

Hi fellow casino cruisers.  I have four cruises booked this year and will be playing in the casino during each one.  Do the points I earn in each cruise cruise roll over cruise to cruise?  For example, if i need to earn 4400 points in the casino for a comp balcony cruise, can I do that over the four cruises or do I have to do that on an individual sailing?  Thanks for your help!

Yes they do roll over, they are all attached to your crown & anchor number. So if you got 4400 points on one cruise that would give you a balcony cruise for that cruise and  points and you would also get a cruise for your annual prime membership which you also accomplished.

you will continue to gain points from each cruise you talk from April 1 2019 to March 31 2020

The above is partly correct. For each cruise that you get 4400 points you will get a certificate for a free balcony. You must book a cruise with the certificate within 30 days of receiving the certificate. The points you get on each cruise will be added together for your year end total. 4400 x 4 = 17,600. This would give you Prime status for the following year and entitle you to a free inside cabin from April 1, 2020 to March 21, 2021. In order to reach signature status and get a free balcony cabin you must earn 25,000 points from April 1, 2019 till March 31, 2020. This can be used on any 8 night or less cruise, not on any holidays from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

It needs to be done on one cruise to get the certificate.

Thank you. I was a bit confused.  It seems unrealistic to assume they will ever reward a cruise off a shorter cruise and very likely to so off a nine plus night cruise.  The good news  is I would play anyway! 🙂

Some people earn a lot of points. On a 7 nighter a friend earned 8800 points. So I'm sure he could get to 4400 on a shot cruise.

My wife and I earn between 400 and 2000 per cruise. We always make it to their Prime category. Free inside cabin (they allow to upgrade) and free drinks in the casino, there's an internet deal but we get free Voom anyway.

I play the slots.  You get one point for every five dollars spent.  A free interior room is 2400 points.  At 2500 points you become Prime which given you certain benefits like free drinks in the casino.  The key to this kind of thing is to engage in an activity you would do in the absence of the loyalty program.

i'm terrible at math... laugh if you want... $12,000 for a 'free' interior room?

You are missing the point.  As I said, it is important that you are engaging in an activity you would engage in anyway.  I play anyway.  So I may as well get an interior room, which I will likely upgrade for a nominal fee, since I am booking the next cruise anyway.

Just in case someone needs clarification, that's not $12k in losses, that's $12k in total played.

that's the amount wagered,  not the amount spent. remember you will also "win" some of the time so as you play that money back it also counts towards the points

I earned two free cruises on my last cruise, I earned the cruise for reaching 2400 points on the ship, that cruise saved me ~$1500. Which is roughly what is spent in the casino.

Then I also earned the Prime tier cruise, which saved me~ $2300.00.

Plus the free drinks in the casino for the entire year which means I will no longer need to purchase the deluxe package as I am not much of a day drinker

It sounds crazy but it is really not.  You don't actually need to put anywhere near that money from your pocket in the machine.  I have played off the same $20 in a machine for an entire night at a casino.  You put in your original $20 but the pts are based on your wager as you keep going up and down, every spin counts.

Hubby and I were both prime last year and got the prime cruise offer.  Neither of us did over 2400 in one cruise so never got any free cruises based on play on a certain cruise.  We did get some $$s off but never used them as the casino rates were better.  We never got any other offers or emails and were told it was because we are in Canada.

This year we are both prime again and have started getting emails again, not sure why. Still have not earned more than 2400 in one sailing, but got our prime offers and have both gotten 3 additional offers in the last month.  They were all BOGO interiors which we were able to combine.  So now we have 4 free cruises on the books, all from earning 2500 pts each over 3 or 4 cruises from April 1 2018-March 30 2019.   We are not able to use one of the offers so we could have a 5th free one.

We also get the drinks free which means we are saving $800-1000 a cruise on drink packages.

As someone mentioned above, we would have gambled anyway.  We also would cruise this year anyway, but maybe not as many times.  So if they want to give me free cruises to gamble what I would gamble anyway, I will take it...

People tell me the same thing.  I am cheap and usually only do minimum bet. On my last cruise my husband convinced me to bump it up to 2X lol

We did use most of them.  We got 2 sets of a certain offer and they are the same cruises being offered on both.  So we booked the only 7 night one on the list for free.  I don't have the vacation to book another cruise for this year and travelling from NB to FL is a long and expensive hike for a 4-5 night cruise.  First world problems :)

Every machine in the casino has a expected return, the slot machines on the ships I assume are around 85-90% that means for every dollar you bet you can assume to get 85 to 90 cents back.

That percentage is based off of max bet as there are often prizes you will not be eligible for without betting max or the number of bonus symbols may very based on bet amount.

the rule of thumb is the higher the denomination and the higher the bet the higher the expected return will be.

now the flip side to that is if I am betting 1 dollar and getting 90 cents back. I am only losing a dime per spin.

If I bet $10 then I might only be losing $.75 per spin with the better odds but I am still losing 7x the amount of money per spin.

i see, yes i understand. i wish we were within driving distance to Florida, but if we were, we probably wouldn't appreciate the wonderfulness of the sunshine and warmth. i've only driven to Florida once, and it was a disaster, never again!
