AtMaui Posted May 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2019 I see a lot of recommendations for restaurants in Barcelona but we will also be in Valencia next week and would like a recommendation for lunch.
grnrab Posted May 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2019 Hello: For Paella I would recommend La Riua Restaurante (quiet street away from Placa del la Reigna) and Canela Restaurant (north of City Hall). Both have authentic Valenciana, Bogavante and El Seynoret style. You need reservations or be there right when the open usually around 1-2pm . Real paella takes 45 minutes to prepare properly so be prepared. If you find yourself in the area below the shopping area of Avengunda Colon ( La Gran Via ) this is a newish section of town with lots of restaurants in close proximity. If you want something casual there are some small places in old town, try near Portas de Serrans gates - Kebab House for to go and if near the Mercat Central/Lonja, lots around there including to go food from the Mercat like sliced ham baguettes, fruits, empanadas etc. Malvarosa beach area has places with views or outdoor seating - many well known ( La Pepica), but very much away from central Valencia - not great value in my opinion.
