NCL Joy Alaska...Vibe - Yea or Nay

We're cruising on the Joy second week of June to Alaska. 

 

We've done the Vibe on previous cruises in more tropical climates and had a great time.

 

Is the Vibe worth it for Alaska? 

 

It's nice to have a place to get away from the crowds, but I'm not sure if we'll use it much given the weather.  Although it would be nice to have an un-crowded spot up top to hang out on Glacier day and Sea Days.

 

Any word on price?  And do they have cabanas available?

We're on the Bliss this summer and are currently contemplating the same. We love Vibe but the current price of $209.00 and $439.00 (with cabana) is a bit ridiculous, even for us.

I do know people on the Bliss and we have become great friends over the years. That's the only reason we are still considering it.
 

That said, Vibe is still being used and it appears they open it up for everyone while in Glacier Bay. 

Ultimately, it depends on your personal choice and the depth of your pockets.

Edited to add: I do not believe there are any cabanas on the Joy.

The picture you posted is literally what I'm trying to avoid on that day...

 

I'm assuming the cabana price is for two, not $439 per person.

That part I do not know, as we've never been able to get one. They've always been bought out by Haven personnel, only to sit empty all week.

Also, I'm pretty sure they close it back down after they leave Glacier Bay.
