Trent-Budget hotel in Miami on the beach

Help! I'm looking for a budget minded hotel on the beach in Miami. Can anyone suggest a safe area?

TRENT- If you had one place you would stay beachside, but less than 150dollars, and somewhat near the port, what ONE place would you pick?!

Well if you want beach AND close to the Port of Miami you want South Beach... From your upcoming cruise, I take it you're looking for something in September? Fortunately for you September is the least expensive time of year, but under $150 per night for a non-dump ON the beach is still a bit of a stretch.

Marriott Courtyard South Beach is 3 blocks from the beach, and usually the least expensive decent hotel in South Beach... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIACB

Thanks Trent! I've tried the Doubletree and they say no rooms available.

 

I can get the Marriott but would prefer on the beach.

 

I'll keep searching. Maybe something will open up in Doubletree.

Have a little patience and bid sporatically, but eventually you should be able to get a good property for less than $100 by using "Name your own price" at Priceline. Educate yourself at http://www.biddingfortravel.com September is not a prime month; I'd start getting serious over the summer.
