anechka26 Posted January 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2006 I'm a Russian citizen residing in the US with a green card. Does anybody know if I need a visa to enter Grand Cayman ( for a few hours) on a cruise (Carnival). Your help is appreciated!
drew sailbum Posted January 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2006 There is a listing of visa-exempt nationalities on the Cayman government website, but it does not specifically mention how permanent resident of those nations are to be treated. http://www.gov.ky/servlet/page?_pageid=3132&_dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30&_mode=3 Still, I would strongly suspect that you do not need a tourist visa to enter Cayman. You may want to verify that with Cayman Immigration. miksilver Posted January 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2006 No, you do not need anything special. My husband had just received his Green Card when we visited there 2 years ago. When you board the ship, they will hold your passport and greencard for the duration of the cruise. He was a little concered at this as well, but it's policy. You get both back the last day when you arrive in port, so you will not even have it when you disemark on the Island. Hope this helps...
