C 2 C Posted January 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2006 For those of you who thought X has mismanaged your cruise or treated you wrong... things could be worse: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4645316.stm
canderson Posted January 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2006 "Several passengers have alleged the ship has not deployed stabilisers to steady itself as often as it should because it is travelling at speed to reach Rio by Friday, resulting in an outbreak of sea-sickness." What a load of crap. As if it were relevant. As to speed, they've been managing 22.5 knots on the remains of the propulsion system. That's all the speed the cap'n can muster at present. Still pretty impressive with 3/4 available and the extra drag (unless they can freewheel the prop -- is it possible to decouple it mechanically?). SharkieRools Posted January 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Unfortunately for those who are joining the class action suit you can bet the 50% back offer made to them will be rescinded. What will probably happen is that they will receive coupons for 25% off a future cruise and the lawyers will end up with all the money.
spongerob Posted January 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Geez, and I thought it was just Americans who could be ugly while traveling. What a bunch of whiney-butts. I'd gladly put up with their horrendous ordeal...it sounds sublime to me.
USSFRef Posted January 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Good to see they have ambulance-chasers in the UK as well. No one wins in a class-action suit except the lawyers. As it is, the case will probably be thrown out of court (if it even makes it that far) once the judge reads the contract.
