Celebration Riviera Deck Question Please

Recommended Posts

Booked on Celebration on Riviera deck in middle of ship, outside cabin. Like the bottom to be able to be closer to the water when I look out if no balcony. Like higher if balcony.

Have read some stuff about noise. It looks like we might be over crew quarters and that would be okay. Just don't want to be over engine room. Isn't that in the back or front? Does anyone know?

I will move us up a couple of decks if you think it might be noisy. I really do like looking out close to the water though.

Any thoughts? Thanks as always.

We were on the Riveria deck...114 midship. We had no problems with noise....no engine noise or crew noise. I'm not really sure where the crew quarters are. Occasionally we could hear our neighbors through the walls, but nothing bad at all. Relatively quite!

Can't help you specifically, but I just got back from Celebration last night.

We were aft, inside on Upper deck. I had read a lot about Celebration being a noisy ship, so was fearful a bit. You could always do the "guarantee route", to improve the likelihood of moving up.

She does make a lot of noise when she's docking. So at 7:00am when you're coming into Calica, Galveston etc, you will most likely be woken up.

I don't believe the general noise around you will be a problem. Perhaps if you're a real light sleeper, but my wife is as well, and she didn't have a problem at all.

But she's a wonderful ship. We had a fan-****-tastic time, give her an 11 out of 10. Full review and experiences coming soon.

Yes, docking is one heckuva noisy proposition, especially on the level at which they perform that. The ship is great, however!

Robin::To answer your question about the rivera
deck we went in Jan-04 we were on R74. It was fine and if you want to see the water close you sure will be able to . It looked just like the water was right under our window. When the waves was higher you could really see it good.
I think that you will be fine there, you did not say what room you had. Happy cruising. We are going again in Dec with the grandkids on the Sensation out of N.O...Sharon

Thank you all for your info.

By the way, Ms. Sugershacker - I was just on Sensation October 03 and loved it. If you have questions, and the brain of this mother of two teen-age males can remember, be glad to answer! Just booked friend on it with hubby for June.

Thanks again to all of you. Don't mind the docking sound, just the engines constantly rolling along. Thinking about keeping the Riviera. As I said, I do so love to look at the water when I am in the room, a little quirk of mine I suppose, but you see some neat things go by. Still looking for the giant squid. Don't want it to touch us, but still looking for it. Ship would never be the same if I actually saw it though.
