T8NCruise Posted July 31, 2019 #26 Share Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) In general, on all the HAL ships, I really enjoy lunch in the Pinnacle Grill lunch, moreso than dinner. But as mentioned before, the one on Zaandam has no windows and I think is better suited for dinner. I love the lamb chops. Don't eat the bread! You won't be able to enjoy the rest of your dinner, lol. They serve a big hunk of warm cheesy bread. The hanging bacon is interesting. We were very disappointed in the MDR food - one evening we had a pot roast dinner that was too tough to cut. In 2 weeks I think I only really enjoyed one meal there. blythe Posted July 31, 2019 #27 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Thanks for the input. I may have to rethink having lunch in the PG. Perhaps dinner would be a better option. It's been many years since we have been on a HAL ship and I don't recall much about the food. Anyway, I am sure we will be able to find something that we will enjoy. Dunelm Posted July 31, 2019 #28 Share Posted July 31, 2019 We were on the July 6 cruise, and in one of the tender ports we saw a very large ship docked. Its name was Aida. Also, we ate in the main dining room every evening and thought we had excellent service and food. We thought Sidney was a small, quite charming town; however, it is very human and okay to have different impressions about the same place and cruise.
