Weather -Iberian Peninsula - September?

I have posted this question on the Roll Calls Board, as well as on the European Cruises board. Have not come across too many people who have done the above-mentioned cruise. We are hoping to take the Legend of the Seas out of Southampton on Sept.30th for an 11 days cruise and I have been told that the seas in the Bay of Biscay, and crossing the channel, at that time of year (Fall) can be quite vicious. Anyone been on this cruise before or travelled the area in the Fall? Any advice or relaying of your experiences would be greatly appreciated. Is this a repositioning cruise?
