sal13579 Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 On a previous thread, the suggestion was made not to miss Bumpa Gumps Bayside. OK, I am lost! What is Bumpa Gumps and why shouldn't I miss the opportunity to go there? Will be arriving in Miami on Saturday for our cruise next Sunday. Thanks for any info. Vidimom Posted April 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2004 It is actually "BUBBA GUMPS". If you remember the movie Forrest Gump, this is a spin off restaurant that sells all kinds of "SHRIMP". Personally I have never eaten there but others I know have and really enjoyed the shrimp. I am allergic to shellfish so I have not had any interest in going there. Here is a link to their website with the location: http://www.bubbagump.com/html/miami.html Enjoy! Sensation 9/98 10th anniv. BrendaB1 Posted April 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I also ate at the one in New Orleans. Food was great and atmosphere fun. Looks just like the scene from the movie...lots of shrimp, paper towels & buckets on tables. Excellent if you like seafood. cmez Posted April 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Our group of Paradise CCr's (Paradise Seekers) met there the night before our cruise. It was an excellent place to get together for the "meet & greet" we all had a great time! I'm not much for shrimp, so I had their fish n' chips. It was really good! If you decide to go, make sure you watch the movie before you go. Because the servers will you on the spot, and will ask a few trivia questions about the movie. deadbug Posted April 18, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Bay side is a great experience...would highly recomend an afternoon there. BUT be careful of bbba gumps---we ran a LARGE bill there without knowing it. Beer is very expensive there, expecially if it comes in a genuine take home with you bubba gump beer glass!!!!!!!
