jnnifer01 Posted April 19, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Cmez, it's in the French Quarter. We've eaten at the one in New Orleans, and are lucky enough to be working in San Francisco, and there's one here, too! I was sad to see that the one here in SF doesn't offer the gumbo that I enjoyed at the NOLA location. tbuff Posted April 19, 2004 #28 Share Posted April 19, 2004 No one mentioned the desserts at Bubba Gumps in Bayside. Yummy !! You just have to squeeze it in after you've eaten all of the shrimp. I believe there's a dessert called Jenny's strawberry shortcake. Mmmmmm. til my 02/13/05 Miracle cruise Victory Nov 2002 Conquest Apr 2003
Christell Posted April 19, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 19, 2004 There's a Bubba Gumps out here in Monterey, Ca. They are supposed to be opening a new one near the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Deadbug- we had a large bill too after we had enjoyed the large beers in the take home glasses!!!
judyjbest Posted April 20, 2004 #30 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi, Lori, Nancy and John: Roger & I were in the "meet & greet" at Bubba Gumps with you guys too. We had already been there, so we'd be the first to say, don't miss it, but we only went a second time to hang with the CC gang, because we weren't overly jazzed about the food. Lori, remind us when you guys are going on the Conquest, because I think we might still join you and your DHs. Nancy, so glad to hear we didn't scare you and John off! Where are you going and when? thebird Posted April 21, 2004 #32 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Liv, I didn't discover seafood until I moved to 'The Heart of Dixie', and have never looked back. Not too much call for it in the late '60's early '70's in New Mexico. The indigenous peoples there would say the same about their chile, and they'd be RIGHT!!! Have lived in Motown, and the mashed potatoes and fried chicken were WONDERFUL (Frankenmuth). They also have the broccoli and cheese bites at this place in Farmington Hills that was like the ones Friday's used to sell. Noodles were done right! Here, it's the 'low country boil'!! Everywhere I've ever lived, I've gotten to love the different flavor. Now, when I cook, I mix this one with that one, and am (pleasantly) surprised with the results! llund Posted April 23, 2004 #36 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Bubba gumps is great. First one I went to was in Maui. I have been to the San Francisco one several times when we visit our son in college. The Long Beach one is open, but haven't been there yet. If you like shrimp, it is a fun place to go. 12/04 Coral Princess 4/09 Monarch of the Seas 6/03 Carnival Conquest 3/03 4/02 Carnival Ectasy 8/02 Radisson: Paul Gaugin 8/01 Rhapsody of the Seas 6/00 Carnival Fascination
Beverlyf Posted April 23, 2004 #37 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Hi Lorrie, Judy & Nancy-John: I knew I would find some of our Paridise Seekers here. Our meet & greet at Bubba Gumps was very nice. I think the atmosphere makes it a great start to your cruise. I love seafood and would not consider Bubba Gumps as one of my favorites, but would go back the next time in Miami. "Paradise Seekers" I know I've been fishing for our next cruise, but haven't booked yet, the 10/31 Conquest or 2/20 Valor are actually in the time frame we want to take our cruises. We are looking for Oct/Nov and Jan/Feb. Would love to go early October, but I have another granchild due September 21. This is my son's first! 3/99 Sensation 01/01 Spirit 01/02 Triumph 10/02 Fascination 09/03 Paradise 02/19/04 Spirit

judyjbest Posted April 25, 2004 #39 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Hey, Bev: You found us all at Bubba Gumps and answered my question. It's possible we'll have our union negotiations settled by 10/31 ... but we won't be able to book until that's for sure. That's a definite maybe for me and Roger, depending if cabins are still available. How fun! Congrats on another grandbaby! shannonh Posted April 26, 2004 #40 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Does anyone know when they stop serving in the evening. Our flight arrives about 7:00 and I know that once we get checked into the Radisson, it will be after 9:00. Do we have a chance?
