Car rentals-cozumel

are cars, jeeps, vans readily available on cozumel..we plan on driving to east side of island, visiting mezcalitos, etc...

Yes, they're plentiful on the island. On our last visit we booked online with Avis a couple of months before our visit. When we arrived we went to pick up our Jeep and they tried charging the posted rate which was higher then the online rate. I showed them my doc's from Avis-online and they honored the lower online rate. Ended up with a brand new Jeep. ;)

We decided to rent one at the last minute as we left the ship. We just walked up to the avis booth and got a jeep. It was a great way to spend the day visiting the various beaches!

We had the most awesome experience renting a car in Cozumel.........my kids and I were waiting for dh to rent the car. As we were waiting, we were looking at a brand new PT Cruiser outside the rental office. The kids were convinced we were getting that car (ha!) DH came out and lead us around the corner where we saw.......a patchwork painted, topless VW bug. The kids were absolutely struck speechless! They totally LOVED it! That day they also discovered Coke in glass bottles.......it was probably the best vacation day we ever had!!
