An attempted rape on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship is the reason a suspect is in the Hillsborough County jail. Henry Maceto Forbes, 34, is charged with false imprisonment and sexual battery. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested Forbes when the Legend of the Seas docked Saturday at the Port of Tampa. A police report said Forbes took a 22-year-old woman on a late night tour of the ship, pulled her into a dark room and attempted to rape her. Royal Caribbean will discipline Forbes depending on the outcome of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office investigation. At the time of the incident, the boat was in international waters. Forbes is being held without bond. This is in the news around Tampa this morning. Print and TV media Now, I'm getting a little worried about my teens on board. OliverTheCat Posted January 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2006 It comes down teaching your teens about discipline. Teach them that going off with a crew member or ANYONE alone is a big fat no no, and especially for a "tour of the ship" at THREE THIRTY AM!!! Come on, now. If your teens know the difference between right and wrong, then they should know not to go off with strangers and travel in groups!!! Remember, these sorts of things can happen anywhere...not just on a cruiseship!! Even when your teen is at the mall, they can be snatched up or whatever, so this incident is not isolated to just cruise ships. Its a matter of teaching them what not to do. This 22 year old was obviously not in the best judgment to go off with the crew member, and that doesnt make what he did OK, but she shouldnt have been so stupid to go off with a strange man.
