christi29 Posted January 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2006 I am cruising on Royal Caribbean and I am debating betweek Snuba and Stingray city. I would like to do both but just don't have the time. I would like pros and cons on both.
TnTWalter Posted February 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I have heard mostly negative reviews of snuba diving, not much better than snorkeling. Stingray city is really cool. We did this last time we were there. There's a place where you snorkel and a place where you can stand and kiss them [sandbar]. We also dove for Conch shells which was fun. shark55 Posted February 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Has anyone done the Ultimate Stingray Snuba thru Royal Caribbean?
picktowncruzr Posted February 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2006 We did snuba in GC and thought it was a lot of fun. We think it is VERY different than snorkeling - - much easier since you don't have to deal with water lapping into your snorkel and a lot closer to the sealife, etc. (maybe I'm just an uncoordinated snorkeler):D . We have also done stingray city. When we did snuba it was through Carnival. The company offering the excursion had you snuba from land...we did snuba again in Belize from deeper water and found that to be a much better experience and required a lot less swimming. If this is your first trip to GC, I would suggest stingrays, but definitely encourage you to give snuba a try in another port..preferable one that is combined with a catamaran excursion or something like that. Hope this helps - - just one fellow CC'ers opinion.
