They try not to have more than one connection. The odds of it being nonstop will depend on the airports you're flying in/out of and the time the nonstop flights are. You may be able to choose your seat - it'll be dependent on what airline you are on. If it's a US domestic flight you won't get a checked bag free. Most likely won't on any US/ Canada flight either. An international long haul will likely get one free checked bag, but it'll depend on the airline you get.
