Ncl shuttle to port in Venice

We booked a precruise hotel in Venice through NCL which includes a shuttle to the port. Does anyone know if we can just send our luggage on the shuttle without us boarding the shuttle? We want to spend a couple more hours in Venice and the shuttle picks up at 11 but the ship doesn't leave until 5:30.  We are hoping we can send our luggage to the ship without the need to go with it.
