Food Tour?

There are at least 2 companies offering food tours. I did Flavors of San Juan a few years ago. I have been to San Juan many times and had already tried most of the dishes and restaurants on the food tour.

Today I did a cooking class, and I thought it was better than the food tour. I found the class on Airbnb Experiences for San Juan, but you can contact the class directly at cookingwithnivia@gmail.com. One of the food tours has asked her to offer a stop at her place as part of a tour. It's more intimate than going to a restaurant and you learn some things you can use in your own kitchen.

For our last visit to SJ via the Celebrity Cruise Line in early 2019, I booked the "Flavors of San Juan" tour and we had a wonderful time.  Our guide, Shannon Kaiser, was absolutely terrific! She knows the language (down to interesting nuances), the customs, historic backgrounds, and the locations. She led us on a walking tour with 4 major stops where each was highlighting one or two culinary items. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
