Contrary to what the let it all hang out's on here will tell you, plenty of couples DO get dressed up for formal night and you will not stick out like a sore thumb. As much as they don't want to admit it FORMAL is also a freestyle choice.

On the Can/NE cruises on the Jewel, with a bit older pax mix, you'd be surprised how many dressed up. DH and I both dressed up and did not at all feel out of place.

Next wk on the Jewel we intend to do the same. But understand that in the Caribbean in general we'd expect a lot more to just be resort casual, even on optional formal night.

The Jewel does not have a separate DR for those dressed formally, so it's really quite a mix. The spec. restaurants don't require anything more than resort casual, either, although on formal nt many of those more dressed up like to spend a special evening in say Bistro.

p.s. Wherever you dine on formal nt, lobster is served. :D
