healthworker Posted December 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2019 I was completing on line check in and was asked to select boarding time. Don’t recall doing this in past. Earliest time 1230. Do they stick to this? I am elite so thought had priority boarding
Guindalf Posted December 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2019 It's an attempt to stagger boarding, but in reality, it makes no difference when you arrive. The system doesn't apply to Elite or anyone else with priority boarding, but some will stick to the times and make boarding easier for everyone. fleckle Posted December 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2019 We never know with certainty in advance just when we will be arriving, so even if required to select a boarding time in advance, it would be no better than a wild guess. There can be too many variables involved that are subject to change. Usually all goes well and there is no problem, but I admit that we have had a few close calls on occasion throughout the years. If you have an emergency and keep the cruise line informed about it, they do try to accommodate you as best they can, for which we are very appreciative. One thing I have learned is to write down those emergency contact names and numbers using old fashioned pen or pencil and paper and take them with you, not just rely on modern electronic devices exclusively, assuming that they will always be available and functional whenever and wherever you may need them.
