ChrisDB Posted December 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2019 The musical program attracted me to HAL but I have seen several reviews of how loud it is... I stayed on a lower deck on our last cruise and liked it (quiet, didn’t get motion sickness/very stable, and disembarkation on shore days was super easy as it was one level down) but the configuration of NS is very different. I was at first excited to see that the Plaza Level and entertainment options (and MDR) are just one level up but now I am afraid of the noise. Would love opinions/thoughts from those who have cruised on NS, esp those who stayed on Main Deck. It is the only remaining question I have before confirming the trip. Thanks!!! Traveltheworld55 Posted December 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2019 We were on deck 4, I believe in VH4069 and the music was extremely loud in our room until about 10:30-11:30 most evenings. When I looked at deck plans precruise I did not account for the fact that the BB King venue is 2 stories, thus they were right underneath us. I would stay away from anywhere on deck 4 near the music venues unless you enjoy having the performance in your room each and every night.
Rare Niagarawine Posted December 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2019 Try deck five . We were in 5003 and did not hear anything, also bonus when we sailed to SAN Juan they opted the entrance to the bow so we could just walk out and enjoy the sail in. Loved this ship. Fredric22 Posted December 24, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2019 Do not sail on deck 2 under the blues lounge. The noise was terrible not only during the evening, but also late at night as the venue turns into the night club.
sandrick Posted January 27, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2020 We stayed on main deck cabin 1031 . What a nightmare. Rolling stone rockroom was above and my glass of water shook when they played.Couldn't hear the tv. Had to endure that for 1 week until they could move us. 510picker Posted January 28, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2020 I’ve stayed on 4096 and 4146 and had no issues with noise. I suppose we were far enough back to be shielded from the noise.
aaaaa Posted January 28, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Stay far clear, above or below, of the music venues.
barb-ottawa Posted January 28, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2020 We were in 4066 on the Koningsdam and asked to be moved. The music from BB King's was very loud and disturbing. The first night it was only until 11:30 which we could tolerate. The next night it was well past midnight when I finally called Guest Relations. We were fortunate that we were able to change rooms the next day. I am usually very careful about where I book rooms but did not take into account that BB King's was 2 levels. In future, I will avoid anything on Deck 4 in the 40** range.
