Priest Posted February 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2006 I'm actually not going on a cruise....we did that last September but knowing the wealth of information on here I figured I'd ask this one. I have to go to Anchorage for 2 weeks this coming June for work. That means I'm going to have at least one weekend there possibly two. I'd like to see if I can get in some Salmon fishing. I was hoping that someone on here could reccomend a fishing guide/tour within driving distance of Anchorage. Thanks!
47Straight Posted February 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2006 I used Sport Fishing Alaska to arrange 6 days of fishing for me during our 15 days of driving around Alaska last summer. They have the local knowlege that will put you on the right water at the right time. I was very pleased with their services. They are recommended by Frommers. http://www.alaskatripplanners.com/

We are using Pete's fishing in Soldotna June 10-15. http://www.petesfishing.com/ We go to Homer EVERY year, late August for salmon fishing. In fact, we bought a week-end place last year. We have used this guy two or three times-http://silverfinguides.com/. Gary does bank fishing, not from a boat. Much cheaper. My DH fishes for silvers in August. In June, you will be looking for Kings and some reds. You can buy your fishing licenses here http://www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/license/. Don't forget to get a king salmon stamp. It would be a shame to hook into a 50 pounder and have to throw him back for lack of the stamp. Enjoy!!!!
