Is anyone familiar with some of the shore excursions offered by Princess on Bonaire? More specifically, what resort are you going to with the "Day at the Beach"? What tour group does the "Mangrove Kayaking"? Also, are the beaches at the Marine Park good...what are their names. Thanks!

Per shore excursion booklet it shows that the tour "A Day At The Beach" #BON-L @$39 for approx. 6 hrs. goes to the Plaza Resort Bonaire. The write up does not state this but if you look at tour booklet it shows a picture of the beach & in the background it looks a cement breakwall going out & that name appears on it plus the note at bottom of page states beach @Plaza Resort. It looks nice but not as nice as following beach.

We will be there on the Sea Princess cruise departing on Feb 25 & we booked "A Day At The Harbour Village Beach Club w/Lunch" @$70 for approx. 6hrs. - We have never been here prior but a previous thread on this site shows that a Princess cruiser went on this tour recently & thought it was great & would go again. This resort was in a travel magazine that I received some time ago & shows that the grounds are lovely.

dont know about excursions but we spent a week on Bonaire 4 years ago.....we stayed at thr Plaza Resort..its not a resort like you see on other islands....it claims to be 5 star but is 3 star at best......the beach is manmade but there is a wonderful reef right there..in fact the whole island is surrounded by reefs right at the shore...you can pull up to any yellow painted rock and jump right in....the yellow painted rocks identify the different reefs......its a divers paradise...and a snorkers one too....when we were there the shopping was very very limited....on street with a few stores....its nothing like you see at Coz or Grand Cayman or St Thomas....of course that was 4 years ago...its very difficult to get there by plane...very few flight.....you can see most everything in a day..except for the spectacular reefs....like nothing I have ever seen anywhere else.....the Harbor beach Club was closed and I think being renovated whenwe were there..its supposed to be very nice....

I dont know how to add a link here but if you go to http://www.bonairetalk......you will find message boards with all kinds of info.....it was the best source of info for us when we went.....we have booked the Crown for next February JUST because it goes to Bonaire.....we would love to go back for a week or two but getting there really is a major hassle Marianne
