VHK Posted February 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2006 Anybody have experience with the kids clubs on the Grand Princess? I have a 10 year old and 14 year old and am wondering if they will be receptive to the kids clubs.

Cruisin' Chick Posted February 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2006 My daughter has just gone on her third Princess cruise (at 5, 7, and 8 years old) and she still enjoys the kids' program. When there's more kids on board, there's more of a program (few kids and it's pared down with more ages in fewer groups).
helenb Posted February 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Princess is very good about putting the kids in groups with similar ages. Chances are they will make friends and then enjoy going to the activities!
kimanjo Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 We sailed on Caribbean Princess when daughter was 11 1/2 and she hated being put in the 9-12 year-old group (at the time). She was a gifted middle school student who had started her period already, and being with some 9 year-old children who were in 4th grade turned her off completely! The music they were playing the in Kid's Club was Brittany Spears and Hillary Duff--while daughter was "into" Coldplay, GreenDay, etc--so even the music was too juvenile for her. She refused to step foot in the club again. A year later she was 12 1/2, we again sailed Princess (this time the Golden) throughout the British Isles. This time she asked to be put into the older group and she was allowed in immediately. Most of the kids were 14 or 15 but that didn't matter, daughter was fine with them, she's very mature and well-travelled, and the kids on the Golden seemed to be a more academic sort with great manners, so daughter was very happy with the Princess Club on that particular cruise. I think it depends on the maturity of your children and where they are in terms of social awareness. 11 and 12 are very difficult ages, some kids are still young kids and others are really much more mature...good luck!
