Princess Kids Clubs

We sailed on Caribbean Princess when daughter was 11 1/2 and she hated being put in the 9-12 year-old group (at the time). She was a gifted middle school student who had started her period already, and being with some 9 year-old children who were in 4th grade turned her off completely! The music they were playing the in Kid's Club was Brittany Spears and Hillary Duff--while daughter was "into" Coldplay, GreenDay, etc--so even the music was too juvenile for her. She refused to step foot in the club again.

A year later she was 12 1/2, we again sailed Princess (this time the Golden) throughout the British Isles. This time she asked to be put into the older group and she was allowed in immediately. Most of the kids were 14 or 15 but that didn't matter, daughter was fine with them, she's very mature and well-travelled, and the kids on the Golden seemed to be a more academic sort with great manners, so daughter was very happy with the Princess Club on that particular cruise.

I think it depends on the maturity of your children and where they are in terms of social awareness. 11 and 12 are very difficult ages, some kids are still young kids and others are really much more mature...good luck!
