Good article and it sounds like she has been reading this cruise critic.

English employers offer this extra travel insurance for a couple of reasons

1. They don't have to pay for health insurance

2. The Brits travel on the Continent all the time and I don't think National Health Insurance covers outside of the UK

3. Its not expensive when purchased by a group(remember I think it should be mandatory and included)..
