Australian wild fires

I just got a message from my good friend Sandy, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who returned last weekend from a cruise to New Zealand and Australia on the Noordam.

“Bonnie just home right now-don’t cancel trip. We had not a single issue. Tired. Will send details of trip in few days. If tourism thought there was a danger or you’d be in the way they’d tell you to cancel.”

“Bonnie another quick thought. Been rain in area for couple days- the good kind. Honestly you are in no danger whatever. Even Aussie news has less on fires now. Devastating for those from the area yes of course. DON’T CANCEL UNLESS TOURISM AUSSIE SEES ISSUES. AND REMEMBER YOU ARE IN NZ good deal of time.”

Agree. I live in Australia and the fires have been devastating in many areas of Australia. In many of the areas the emergency is over and the residents are working to rebuild their homes and communities.

Australia is open for business and they are asking people to visit the effected areas to help rebuild the economies.
