samiam0403 Posted January 27, 2020 #26 Share Posted January 27, 2020 I had a DOU card waiting for me upon boarding on my last cruise (but had also purchased Cheers since I had a non-gambling friend with me). When I went to chat with casino staff on day 1, they told me that while I was on their list, I didn't need the DOU card since I had Cheers. And that even if you have both, the limit is 15 drinks daily. (Unless your server/bartender is seriously gaming the system to keep you happy, which definitely happens.) But the official rules are 15 drinks period with DOU.

All of you guys say I have been told I drink and I gamble both to an excess and have used this first hand over 15 times a night on multiple nights and different boats. Then they didn’t follow their own rules, so you’ve been lucky.

Someone got very lucky. 15 alcoholic drinks is the limit, whether with DOU or Cheers. It's no secret that this is policy. (Coming from someone who basically lives in the casino on a Carnival cruise and even on an Elite cruise with constant additional tipping was flat out denied a 16th drink one day. Oops. Only time I've ever maxed out on drinks.)
Rare Jamman54 Posted January 30, 2020 #30 Share Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) My son and I have had both Cheers and DOU several times and it was 15 drinks MAX regardless. If you got more, then the alcohol gods were bestowing a blessing on you! 😀 Edited January 30, 2020 by Jamman54

I've heard of the program, but we have never used it. We gamble a little every night, but never enough to reach the threshold to be eligible. In this case, however, the rep said that there is no threshold. The offer I have received is apparently good right from the start of the cruise with no minimum level of gambling required. Does that sound right? Do they often make an offer like this? She did say that only I am eligible on this casino offer. My daughter, who is my travel companion for this trip, is not receiving the offer even though we are in the same room on the same booking. I'm not knocking it! Just want to be sure this is correct before I go crazy ordering drinks in the casino. 😉 Yes it's correct, I'm sailing on the Sunshine in 9 days and my offer included DOU card for me and one traveling companion . So enjoy!!!
