pugsbest Posted April 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2004 I am cruising the Elation in August with 3 friends. I am the only one that has cruised with Carnival in the past (about 12 years ago). I am waiting to see if Carnival can come up with my passenger number. If they do, will I be able to take a guest or 3 with me to the party? venusjems Posted April 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2004 On my second cruise my mom, aunt and I were in the same room. It was me and my moms second on carnival my aunts first, me and my mom both received a invitation for ourselves only. the next cruise it was me and my fiance it was his first cruise, and i got an invite for me and a guest. I guess it just depends... I know i didnt help you any, but just wanted to share my experience. Till my wedding!!! aggieastrosfan Posted April 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2004 On my last cruise one of the couples at our dinner table had the same problem; she was a past guest, he wasn't. When the invitation came to their room, it was addressed to her only, but when she went to the purser's desk, she was able to get an invitation for him. They both went to the past guest party. yst347 Posted April 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2004 The past cruiser party invitation is for you and one guest. If you all walk in together no one will say anything. crisp1 Posted April 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Our son had his 'own' cabin this last time... with his best friend ( they're 16). Both were invited and both got pins ( neither went... how 'dorky' ) we had a blast To Sea, or not, to See. kapcruiser Posted April 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 26, 2004 my brother is a past cruiser, we are cruising with him, but in a different room, our booking numbers are crossed referenced for dinner, should we also be invited? If we are not, can we ask someone? Inspiration - August 2004
christhree Posted April 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 27, 2004 during a family cruise 3 yrs ago...1/2 were 1st timers, and 5 cabins were cross referenced for dinner...everyone was invited. That's all I can tell ya. Have fun !! I didn't even go to the last party in February...too crowded, bad time{during dinner for us} and opted out. Only thing I miss is my pin...wonder if I can still get it? SUSANITA Posted April 27, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Going out on a limb here, don't flame me, but I think that if you and three friends showed up with one invitation, that no one would even care. They have someone at the door taking the invites, but I've never seen them even look at the darn thing. Show up, hand them the invite, and if they give you a problem (highly unlikely) you can always tell them that you weren't sure, so you thought you'd bring them along. It's true, you aren't sure, so you may as well try it. The worst they can do is turn them around at the door, but I've honestly never, ever heard of that happening. halos Posted April 27, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 27, 2004 This is great news. My family of four all have cruised Carnival, but the family we are going with hasn't. This is their first cruise EVER...so it will be great that they can attend this with us! Cotton Posted April 27, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Hi Halos. It's a nice party. They serve hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, drinks (nope, not limited to one), the Captain and sometimes also CD are there to "welcome" us back. Sometimes they show a short video of the ship. A combo will be playing and some folks dance. It's usually held in one of the lounges. I was given a Holiday pin as I entered the door last cruise. It's a nice party. Don't miss it. Oh, and they draw a name for free bottle of champagne. The party is just one of the nice little things Carnival offers to past guests. tef43 Posted April 27, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 27, 2004 MANY free drinks, and not weak ones either. Whatever you do, make sure you try a blue one, or two or ten. On the Paradise, it was held in the Queen Mary Lounge. On the Triumph, they had to use the Rome Lounge (main show lounge), and the place was PACKED! davidaperryman Posted April 27, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Since it is a "past guest" party, where Carnical shows their appreciation to "past guests", why should first time cruisers get to go? That kind of defeats the whole purpose of the party doesn't it? halos Posted April 27, 2004 #19 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Please, I don't think Carnival owes me anything, but I am sure they appreciate me returning with a family that would have other wise probably never cruised had I not talked them into it. Giving them a few appetizing tidbits and blue drinks kind of insures that the first time cruisers I bring will return on their own...maybe with other folks who have never cruised before. It's like paying for commercial time...I am the advertiser! I believe in Miracles MIRACLE JUNE 19, 2004 Calm Seas, Good Friends
