Jordan475 Posted February 17, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Hello all, My partner and I are taking our first cruise in late May. It is the Carnival Fascination, leaving San Juan (with a night at a hotel in Old San Juan) with stops in St. Thomas, Sint Maarten, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, and Barbados. We have usually done independent travel in the past, so this will be a new experience. We're in our mid-late 30's. We've never been to any of these islands before (though I have been to San Juan) and would like a nice variety of excursions (whether ship based or otherwise). I'd like to have some combination of beaches, snorkeling, historical sites, hikes, maybe rum distilleries, but not sure what would be best on which island to get a nice variety. Basically something unique to each island, to get a good experience. I would appreciate any thoughts! Quote Edit
EeyoreRN Posted February 20, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2020 St. Kitts - My Island Tours with Javin is a great full-day comprehensive tour that included history, culture, hiking, snorkeling, beach and sites. Plus the additional bonus of spending the day with a very social and adorable monkey! St. Lucia - any speed boat that includes views of the pitons and switches to van up the mountain to the mud baths and waterfall, and should also offer some beach/snorkel time. Lots of companies offer this, we used Joy's Adventure. Have a great time! We did the Southern Caribbean last year on Royal and are repeating this year same itinerary, it's so great! cruiseapril Posted February 26, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Have been to all the islands except St. Kitts. In Barbados we liked the island tour because there is so much to see. On St. Thomas we went to Magen's Bay Beach two different times. There are many nice beaches on St. T. In St. Lucia, we did a partial island tour. The Pitons are very popular. Would only go on a ship's excursion here. In St. Martin, we went to Orient Beach. However, it was very wavy that day and not good for water sports. So we decided to go to Marigot the next time.
