redheadx3 Posted February 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Does RC provide nice beach towels? or Do I need to pack my own?
Cruzntime Posted February 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2006 The beach towels for private island excursions are regular bath towels. You have so many to your room and if you don't bring them back you will be charged, I believe, $25. They are not worth it but at least everyone remembers to bring them back. OliverTheCat Posted February 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2006 The towels are not as big or soft as your normal beach towel. Also, you have to pay $20 each if you lose it. I always bring my own on RCI.
teddie Posted February 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2006 The last thing I would want to bring home from any vacation is a potentially wet and/or sandy towel, especially if the cruiselines provides it to you. Their towels are large, thick and, best of all, you don't have to pack it or wash it. I would never ever consider bringing my own!
Ali-in-Texas Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Our family packed our own beach towels and I'm glad we did. The beach towels offered on RCI in my opinion are ugly. When going on such beautiful beaches and excursions I would also like to have a pretty beach towel.
Rosieo Posted February 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2006 We never bring our own towels. The ones supplied by the cruise line are fine with us. I would rather have the extra room to take an extra pair of sandels or two or three.
Cape Cruiser 2007 Posted February 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Take one of those "Neat Sheets" a thin sheet that has weights at the corners to keep it still. Then lay your "boat" towel on top. This way your towel stays free of sand. Nothing like a wet sandy towel to wrap yourself in! The sheet works great to just sit on too; wrap wet stuff in and toss into your bag to carry back onboard!
kbt2 Posted February 7, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I too pass on bringing my own towels. Would much rather drop off a "ugly" towel in a bin when boarding the ship, then take home sand all in my suitcase. We've always grapped a few and have never had any complaints...then again a towel doesn't make or break our time on the beach.
scapino Posted February 7, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2006 What's a "neat sheet" and where do you get them?
suebear37 Posted February 7, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2006 What's a "neat sheet" and where do you get them? I've bought them in the past at ---where else--- Wegmans!!! You know the old saying... if Wegmans doesn't have it, it either doesn't exist or you don't need it!!!
Happy ks Posted February 7, 2006 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2006 No wonder some people have so much luggage! Never pack anything that is provided for you, except your own hair dryer :p , theirs are awful. When you re-board, you just throw them in a bin. I think they state there is a charge so people do bring them back. I have no idea how they would track an unreturned towel. With the weight restrictions imposed by airlines, you need to leave home as much extra stuff as possible. With the linited space in the cabins, you need to leave as much stuff home as possible.
