Thank yous for tips

Just a general thanks to everyone who shares their insights, specific comments, and answers questions fast on the bulletin board.

 

My husband and I just returned from our first cruise together (we'd both been separately) and got some really good tips from the boards before going. Here were some specific things that were helpful:

• from the CC boards I learned about buses on St. Maarten and saved money taking two trips on those ($6 total vs. paying $20-plus for cabs)

• learned about taking wine on board, the corking fee on RCI, and that we weren't being "lawbreakers" or such by doing so

• got advance warning that some fitness classes cost more (but some didn't)

• tips on taking a change of clothes and bathing suit in carry on since luggage delivery takes a bit

• followed advice to go to Portofinos the first night--it was almost empty and was wonderful

 

The "think you are an expert cruiser...add your secrets here" thread was a good one, and I didn't even get past page 6!
