Celebration cake

Just heard taht Carnival will no longer give a free cake for your birthday. The cake charge will eb $7.95 for a small cake and $9.95 for a larger cake.

 

Boy are they getting cheap.

You are right - $7.95 or $9.95 for a birthday cake is pretty cheap. I'm sure I paid more than that when I bought one at the local bakery.

Our tablemates celebrated their anniversary at the Golden Fleece and were given a cake. The next night in the Truffles dining room our waiters brought them another one when they found out about their anniversary. As far as they or we knew, the cakes were free.

Was on the Victory 3/28-4/4. Tablemate got a small cake for her birthday and I did not see her have to sign a charge slip. However, if they are charging don't bother. They are not very good. Bring a small candle and I am sure your waiter will put it in any dessert you choose.

I totally agree! With all the yummy desserts thay offer, I wouldn't pay for those cakes! (Unless it was for a child's birthday or something like that!) We received one (gratis)on our last cruise and they are in a word, horrible! Even worse, they brought ours AFTER we had ordered a regular dessert!! They also wouldn't let us take it with us to our cabin. It was really a waste, of even a bad cake! (Now I'm a pastry chef, so maybe I'm being overly critical, but it's JMHO)
