lovegoldens Posted February 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I thought I had read somewhere that dining on the Galaxy in the main dining room was "open" for breakfast and lunch and you only had formal dining hours, early or late for dinner. But when I looked on the FAQ for dining on their website it looks as if you have specific times for Breakfast and Lunch, for the main dining room, based on early or late sitting as well? We have the late seating, which we really don't want and it is disappointing enough to deal with this in the evening but very disappointing if we have to deal with it for breakfast and lunch as well. Can anyone please confirm whether this early/late sitting happens every meal in the main dining room. Thanks
DonLou Posted February 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2006 On our cruise on the Galaxy, there were specific times for breakfast and lunch but it was not an early/late arrangement. The seating was first come/first serve and you're seated where there are available seats.

superjerryw Posted February 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2006 Your assigned dining time and table assignment is only for dinner. Breakfast and lunch in the dining room are open seating. They will normally seat you with other passengers as you come in to the dining room so they can fill up the tables. A waiter will then take everyone's order at the table at the same time. The actual times that the dining room is open for breakfast and lunch may vary depending on whether the ship is in port or at sea. If you cannot switch your dinner time to the early seating you could also avail yourself of the casual dining in the evening served in the buffet area if you just want to eat earlier a couple of nights. DancerOT Posted February 9, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2006 Have you already called Celebrity to try and change it? Make sure you go see the Maitre'd once on board. I am sure they will try their best to accommodate your desire to switch. Good luck and enjoy. And yes it is open seating for breakfast and lunch. Oh, and you can always order your dinner from the dining room off the dinner menu (not just the room service menu) to your cabin as room service, as well.
