mkend Posted April 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Does anyone know of a good hotel in Fort Lauderdale? In Port Canaveral they kept our car for free. Any in Fort Lauderdale with the same deal? Shuttle to port also? Thanks! The Carnival Glory !!!
CruiseFever Posted April 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2004 The Wyndham at the airport can be had through Priceline for $40 at times (we did) and is a nice hotel. They have a shuttle that will pick you up if you were flying in but you're not so who cares? If its the beach you want we've stayed at the Holiday Inn, Hyatt Pier 66, Sheraton Yankee Clipper and Sheraton Yankee Trader. They're all good hotels with their own flavor that makes a precruise in Fort Lauderdale memorable. For the best information on landing a room there for a song go to: www.biddinghelp.com. Amber ( a CC board member) has all the answers for that stuff. Here's more on Fort Lauderdale including a link to the Harbor Masters daily report for Port Everglades where you can see info about the ships that are coming and going when you are there. I like to get up early and see the ships come it, this will tell you wnen to look. Vidimom Posted April 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2004 You have a couple options in Ft. Lauderdale. The closest one to the port is Amerisuites on 17th St. We stayed at the La Quinta Hollywood/Airport and they let us leave our car there, free shuttle to the port and a great breakfast. We had to take a taxi back there which ran about $20.00 w/tip but we saved a fortune on parking. Go to www.biddingfun.com and click on Ft. Lauderdale. BurBunny Posted April 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Aww thanks! In addition to the recommendations of the Amerisuites and LaQuinta Airport above (both of which offer free parking and are available through Priceline/Hotwire), there is a third hotel I can recommend. Not Priceline/Hotwire available, but nice property which allows for parking during your cruise - Springhill Suites in Dania. It's a Marriott-family property and suite-style with complimentary breakfast and port shuttle (to the port, not returning). Amber Cruise Resource BiddingFun and BiddingHELP

pgmrdev Posted April 30, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Stayed at the Marriott, booked it through Priceline. However, they put you in the Garden Building and not in the Tower. As you might guess, Tower is much nicer.

Grand Princess 2-2001 Grand Princess 12-2001 Carnival Paradise 3-2002 Carnival Destiny 10-2002 Golden Princess 10-2003 Carnival Legend 6-8-2004
