I think the number and scope of discussion areas there just reinforces the difficulty cruise companies will encounter in trying to return to anything resembling normal operations

Interesting, a couple of things I noticed

Temperature testing not considered reliable method of detecting COVID-19

Cruise line responsible for any repatriation that may be required

 

and  Cruise operators need to ensure that cruises do not pose unacceptable health risks to passengers, staff and the general public, in particular when compared to other types of package holiday.

I noted on page 30, regarding contract tracing. In scenario B, all people on board would be treated at high risk exposure contacts, Page 31 goes on to say that high risk exposure contacts would have to go into 14 day quarantine. If I’m reading it correctly, that’s the whole ship in quarantine.

 

Give that COVID19 is still in general circulation, I don’t fancy paying a few thousand pounds to have a reasonable chance of ending up in quarantine.

 

This has confirmed to me that cruising is a risk I’m not willing to take at the moment.
