RabidDolly Posted April 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2004 I keep hearing about all these credits due to the price drop of your cruises... My question is i got our cruise through cruise.com, is anyone familiar with this site. Are they reliable? If my cruise rate went down and I wanted to get credit for it how would I know to do this? We didn't purchase through Carnival but I would like to check this out and see if the rate went down. How do I know if the rate went down when i paid a better price than what carnival had posted on their site at the time of my purchase through cruise.com? Hope you guys can help... Thanks in advance. ~~Dolly Carnival Jubilee 6/2004
tef43 Posted April 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Once your final payment date has passed and you are in the penalty period, all bets are off. You *may* be able to get a reduction or OBC, but it is much more difficult. Tom <--- Curmudgeon of the Seas Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Shhhh, it's a surprise! And then: Carnival Spirit 12/10/05 Mexican Riviera Perhaps something else in the works as well. Watch this space. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching. Catrin Posted April 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Email your Travel Agent.... Let them know that the price from Carnival went down.. and ask them to contact Carnival to see if you can get a credit on your Sail and Sign card. Be polite.. be persistent.. it pays! Cotton Posted April 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Wait a minute, Dolly. Don't give up yet! Just because final payment has been made doesn't mean you cannot get a shipboard credit! I book directly w/Carnival, and I got a nice shipboard credit just 3 days before my last cruise....so it CAN be done. However, you can't just call Carnival and ask for it; you'll have to get your TA to do that for you. Tybug Posted April 30, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Dolly, all may not be lost... yet. Give your TA a call and double check the prices. You could still get an onboard credit or an upgrade. --Tybug-- 10-01 Imagination 02-02 Sovereign of the Seas 10-02 Inspiration 01-03 Majesty of the Seas 04-03 Inspiration 10-03 NCL Dawn 02-04 Rhapsody of the Seas 05-04 Majesty of the Seas 10-04 Mariner of the Seas
Princess Poshpaws Posted April 30, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Hi Dolly,we cruised Celebrity in 2001 and never gave a thought to price drops,we had been home 3 weeks when a cheque for 547 uk pounds dropped through the letter box.As we had booked through a T.A. and this arrived straight from Celebrity we were pleasantly surprised............so don't despair,if you don't get a credit after you have noticed a pricedrop, badger the cruiseline aswell as yout T.A. you never know your luck. RabidDolly Posted April 30, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted April 30, 2004 So would I need to call cruise.com or carnival to check about getting a credit? I haven't really been involved with a TA so I'm not sure who I should call. I've recieved emails from people who work for cruise.com and from carnival, so I'm not sure who I would call my TA.... lol sounds silly doesn't it Oh and I'm still not sure if there was even a price drop, how do I find out if I have a price drop? Who do I call? ~~Dolly Carnival Jubilee 6/2004
