Does any one know if we could get a cab for the day, just to take us around in the above order. if so how would we go about reserving. Approximate cost for a day having our own cab. Another option would be to rent a car for the day we just prefer not having to drive. We will be in port from 8 am - 5 pm

Thank You For You Advice.

We had jeep on our 11/26 sailing on the Serenade. Much cheaper than taxis if your talking all day. Driving is on the right and traffic is great out of Philipsburg.... we enjoyed our day immensely and went ALL OVER THE ISLAND. We split the cost of 87.00+ with our best friends travelling with us so worked out to about 100.00 ./. 4 = 25.00 each for the day. If you decide on taxi - there will be plenty at pier ..... tell them exactly what you want and negotiate before you get in.

A four passenger auomatic, a/c, p/s,p/b Toyota Corolla rented at the pier (from Hertz) is $50 plus insurance, concession fee and gas, totaling around $75. Cheaper than the jeep and you get better mileage. Unless you plan to explore off-road this is a better way to go. Gas is expensive here.

Smokin,

I agree with Texascruiser. When you arrive in Phillipsburg, there will be many taxis available. You can negotiate a price with them to either take you to Marigot, then Macho, then orient Beach, or for the day. Just be sure you agree on a price before you get into their cab.

Marrigot is a fun little town to roam about & shop for a few hours.

I'm not sure where Macho is, but if you taxi directly from Marigot to Orient Beach, the direction you come in from is BREATHTAKING!!! (be sure to have your camera readily available for some "kodak moments".

Have fun,

Annie
