Which ship for 1st Timers

We are seasoned cruisers, 12 cruises, but never on Celebrity. We are planning to try Celebrity in 2007 but would like a new ship with a good choice of balcony rooms.

Once again, I have never sailed Celebrity so I don't know much about it's ships. Can anyone offer some advice on which ship would be best for someone that has cruised RCCL, Princess,Disney and Carnival? We have always sailed on the newer ships. Thanks for you help.

You'll find the best selection of balcony cabins on any of the M-Class ships: Infinity, Summit, Constellation, Millennium. These are also the newest ships in Celebrity's fleet.

You don't say what sort of veranda cabin you've picked in the past, but here's a couple of suggestions for the best of cabins on the abovementioned ships:

Category 2 Cabins

2A - 8161,8146,9173,9138

2B - 7049,7080,7163,7166,7171,7173,7175,7177,7174,7176, 7178,7180

2C - 6016,6018,6020,6021,6022,6023,6024,6025,6026,6027, 6029,6030,6031,6033,6035,6053,6048

CC Cabins

Deck 9: 9043,9038 and 9201,9164,9162,9160 aft

Deck 8: 8045,8046 and 8185,8176,8172,8170 aft

Deck 7: 7203,7212,7208,7206 aft

Deck 6: 6135,6136,6143,6144

Constellation is my favorite. The "new" Century would be a nice choice also. The ships are all beautiful so it just boils down to where you want to go.

Do you prefer smaller intimate ships, or bigger ships?

Thanks aloanldy,

I appreciate your suggestion.

We have usually done the bigger ships, or at least that is what they were when they were new. They get bigger each year. We would have no problem trying a smaller ship. Where to go is not an issue as long at it sails from Florida and not Puerto Rico.

Thanks for your response canderson,

This is exactly what I needed to know..M-Class is probably the way to go. We are booked on RCCL's Freedom of the Seas this year and we will book on-board for Celebrity in August 2007. The cabin information will come in very handy. Thanks again.

Hi Megadan !

If you want to sail on Celebrity, from Florida to the Caribbean in 2007, and want ships with balconies, that basically leaves you with 3 choices :

1. Millennium - 7 nights from Ft Lauderdale

2. Constellation - 10/11 nights from Ft Lauderdale

3. Century - 4/5 night sailings from Miami

All of these ships will have a large # of Balconies. Millennium and Constellation are virtually identical (and larger than Century). Century is about 20% smaller, but she will be newly refurbished in 2007. Sadly, Century will only be doing shorter sailings. Of course, you can always book a back-to-back, and make it a 9 or 10 night sailing.

Which one would I pick ? If you can do the longer sailing, I would go for Constellation's 10 night sailing. That is one of the best Caribbean itineraries that Celebrity offers. That would clearly be my first choice.

Let us know what you choose. Enjoy your Cruise !

The best ship in the fleet doesn't have balconies...Zenith is a great ship, great crew, great tradition of service and style.

Hi Dan !

I totally agree with you. Zenith is a great ship. The only reason I didnt mention it, is the OP said they wanted balconies.

I would sail on Zenith any time. I am still hoping to take a short cruise on her this year, before her Caribbean season ends. As I am on Century in a few weeks, its going to be difficult.

My family & I just returned from a cruise on the Infinity. Our first cruise was on Zenith, did not have a balcony, as far as I can remember. We came away loving it. We have cruised on the Millenium 3 times, all to the Caribbean. They are all beautiful ships so I think you will be very happy no matter which one you choose to sail on.

:D
