Why would you want to bring a computer on board a cruise?? This is a paragraph from NCL's cabin info page: These suites include a living room, private balconies, dining room, separate bedroom with king-size bed, mini bar, CD/DVD library and luxury bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower. Butler service and concierge available. Access to exclusive concierge lounge and private courtyard area with pool, hot tub and sundeck.

Average size: 790 Square Feet (with balcony).

Since the inside rooms have internet access, I know your suite does too, but not an actual pc itself.

Hi James,

When you have a chance, could you tell me about the room? It looks great on the website, but I found different set ups and colors. Green or red couches, is there a chaise? Great to know I do not need to bring my laptop. Is the dining room in a seperate area or in the corner by the windows? Thanks in advance, have a great cruise!

PMFJI, but the AA's on 10 have the dining alcove and are large, and the ones on 9 have the table by the window, due to the smaller size of the suite.

The portside suites are decorated in more reds and starboards are green. I've been told this is fleetwide.

It's a fabulous suite, we've had 10506 on the Star and are about to have 10506 on Dawn, as soon as Jewel goes where we want to go, we'll have to add 10504!

Fair winds,

  • 3 weeks later...

Been very busy since back form the cruise. In a nutshell it was wonderful. My 6th NCL including the Winded, 2 Dawn, 2 Star and the Jewel. If you love NCL all the things they do keep getting better and that was certainly evident. I should mention I booked for a group of 20 for my mothers birthday present. We had 10504 and all the PH cabins in between over to the otherside. We moved as a large group and the concierge did a wonderful job. We ate in every specialty restaurant at prime time with a huge table waiting for us. We had reserved seating for every show. Tickets for sold out excursions. The concierge level are well worth the extra money. We also had access to the new lounge and courtyard upstairs. It was very nice and a great way to sun since EVERY CHAIR is taken on this ship. The balinese beds are amazing to lounge in the sun and get served a cocktail. The courtyard I cared less for since it was enclosed so a bit stuffy for my tastes. However the private gym was heaven sent. The regular gym is amazing small and used ALL DAY LONG very hard to get equipment. having also spent a week in the 3 bedroom courtyard villas. While it probably works our the same with all the PH we got. I prefer to be in the main stream and less on top of each other if you know what I mean.

Having done this same room on the dawn and the star I can only say it has gotten better. Same layout. I prefer the 10th floor much better than the 9th. And I prefer the deep reds to the the green. And either way better than the picasso eclectic of the star/dawn. This furniture and chase are yummy to sit and lay in. The bathroom is fantastic. Huge double sinks, soaking tub, huge closet, seperate shower. A wonderful room.

Our routine was to meet each niight at 6:30 for cocktails and appetizers with the entire clan to plot out our evening. Who going where and kids doing what. I must sya the ship was CROWDED it was a school holiday week and kids were everywhere. Since we brought along 5 of our own in the group it was wonderful, but for the picky in you make sure you checl what weeks you are going.

i am no great writer but happy to answer any specific questions. The only less than desirable thing I could say about the cruise (people always want to know) the buffet was way horrible not even for breakfast order room service form your butler and enjoy and read the paper. Also we TENDERED at EVERY SINGLE PORT. Not only is it a PAIN, it was DISORGANIZED with so many people on board and VERY HARD on the ELDERLY. We had a number in our party just wait it out on the ship. I aked several times why we tenedered EVERY SINGLE PORT and the answer was crowded seas and luck of the draw. In that case NCL go the short straw and Carnival et al won out. There ships princess and carnival were at teh dock in every port as we tendered back and forth wasting valuable time on very short stop (e.g. 8am - 4pm, Jamaica).

Peace!

Thanks so much for the insight on the cruise, can't wait... We too are a group though smaller only 12. The rest of my group is on deck 11 in mini's the one thing I am wondering is whether I will be able to share some of my perks with them like dinner reservations and priority tender tickets. Also, can I host them for pre dinner cocktails with hors d'ouvres or is that too many people? How was the butler and concierge?

Yes when you check in they will put you in the suite lounge. Let your party go their own way fro a bit. The concierge will be there waiting and order an escort to take you on the ship. Let her know right then you have 12 in your party and would appreciate her making reservations at each restaurant for 12 right away each night at whatever hour, etc. She will get right on it and you will have no problems. Last minute party for 12 are hard to accomdate. Get the reservations done. Then when you get on baord let the butler knwo what you would like to do entertaining wise. You get 3 bottles of liqior with your cabin and he can get you mixers, setups, glasses, plates and order the hors dovres platters. For 12 I would get one of each and may a couple dozzen shrimp. You certainly can fit 12 in for drinks and snacks in 10504. You also can bring them up to the lounge and private courtyard. You will have a wonderful time.
