cdeao Posted February 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2006 I'll be in Cozumel mid-March. Looking for a good place to snorkel and loaf on the beach for the day. Post-Wilma, which beach offers the best snorkeling? And what's the best way to get there (cab vs rental car)?
jetskier Posted February 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Your best bet is to take a boat as most of the snorkeling areas close to the beach were destroyed or severely damaged. Paradise Beach offers a catamaran that will take you out for $35pp. A cab will run you between $12-14 depending on which pier you come in on. Zeno Posted February 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2006 jetskier is correct. The reefs close to shore were VERY badly damaged. You may see some fish but I doubt that there will be much coral left near shore. The deeper offshore reefs still have decent snorkeling but you will have to take a boat to reach them. Besides Paradise beach, boats go out to the reefs at Palancar Beach.
