wystiria Posted February 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2006 might be helpful if you could let us know which islands you will be visiting. out of the following I found Tahaa (Ta-ha-ah) to be the best it is just off Raiatea. Moorea Tahiti Bora Bora Raiatea rangiora (2nd best) Nuka Hiva Hiva Oa Huahine

wystiria Posted February 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2006 well Tahaa is FABULOUS but you need to find someone to take you to the coral gardens. We went with Bruno (http://www.tahaa.net) but I am thinking you could go with just about anyone so long as you got to the correct places. We did a drift snorkel between 2 motus starting on the ocean side and swiming towards the lagoon side. it was FABULOUS!! In Moorea - you can have fun with rays, lots of excursions right on the dock. Also we went out with Dr. Poole and went in hunt of dolphins. He is very informative. Bora Bora we did some great diving - which leads me to belive there will also be some good snorkeling. I heard there were coral gardens here as well. Basically You can't go wrong anywhere in the FP islands!!!! from what we saw it was all great and me saying where it was the best is relative :) everywhere I got in the water it was better than the carribean barring Roatan! HAVE FUN I am so jealous and can't wait to go back!!!

Bassethound Posted February 25, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2006 If you are going from the ship, for sure Bora Bora and Tahaa from this list. Also, Rangiroa or any of the Tuamotos, if you get there. The Moorea places get too crowded when a ship is in.
