Advice for a U.K. cruiser

Hi all

looking at 7 and 8 night cruises for December this year, either from Port C or Miami. Im from across the pond. I know that no one has a crystal ball so we don’t know whether the US will even let us in by then, although I really hope so. If I booked one and paid the deposit but then couldn’t get there, anyone know whether we would lose our money ? How good have carnival been with refunds or are they inflexible? The deposit is $100 and wouldn’t have to pay anymore until September, when I hope things would be so much cleared before we splashed out on the rest. Any suggestions, advice would be most appreciated. Thanks all.
